ABOUT TTSC Traditional Taekwondo Sports
Centre (TTSC) is located in the heart of Malacca town. The TTSC was form by
Master T.L. Loh (6th Dan) in 1984. Master T.L. Loh has been
involved in sports since childhood. And with his martial art family
background, he has worked his way up in Taekwondo. He and his brother,
Grandmaster T.K. Loh of Traditional Taekwondo Association (TTA) Scotland,
learned Taekwondo together when they were young. He still practices
Taekwondo today and is the Head Instructor of the TTSC which he formed. He
is also a qualified National Referee, De-centralised National Coach, MTA
Level 2 Taekwondo-Specified Instructor and was made Team Manager for the
Malaysian Junior Squad at the 1st Asian Junior Taekwondo
Championship held in Lukong Chang Hua, Chinese Taipei (2001). His skills are
not only limited to Taekwondo, but he also has a variety of knowledge in
other martial arts such as Chinese Kungfu, TaiChi and Silat. Master Loh’s
training not only emphasises on skills of Taekwondo, he also stresses the
need to educate his students on the philosophy of Taekwondo. When he first formed the TTSC, he only had about 20 members. But through rigorous hard work and
effort, he persevered and now the TTSC has expanded to nearly 600 members. Master Loh has also trained many students who excelled to higher levels. His
most excellent trainee is Elaine Teoh; two (2) times SEA Games Gold
medallist (1999 & 2001), Korea Open Silver medallist and a candidate for
the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. Today, his is still running his BAKAT
programme - training and bringing up potential players; some who have been
selected for the national squad. The TTSC is now concentrating on expanding the art of Taekwondo to every
part of Malacca. |
